Workshop Overview

Community Engagement from all levels – individuals, families, work forces, leadership – and all ages is critical to the success in revitalizing our Native Languages.

This three-day training is for community members of all ages who are interested in normalizing use of our Native Language in daily life. Community members may understand how important it is to keep our Language vibrant, but they require skills and tools to implement strategies to bring Language use back to daily life. The training session focuses on: activities that promote use of language; building confidence is using Language; immersion strategies and tools for families.

Participants will be required to develop and share mini-lessons that apply learned theories. Full three-day participation is required for Certificate of Completion. The workshop hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day (Light Breakfast & PM Snacks served all 3 days).

Recommended for families, parents and guardians, language program directors, administrators, tribal leaders, language advocates, school teachers and staff .

You are responsible for booking your own lodging. Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is located a 10-15 minute drive North of Albuquerque Airport (ABQ). Contact the hotels to see if they have shuttle service from the Albuquerque Airport. If you want your freedom to explore the area, enjoy more restaurants in the area or in Albuquerque, we suggest you rent a car.
